GIVE-A-HUG DAY

I just can't start posting 2015 happenings without finishing last year's important matters.
This is my last post for 2014.
NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION (haha): I'll do my best to make my posts up-to-date from now on.

GIVE-A-HUG DAY is a yearly commitment started by Ate Sal. It has been going on for 15 years now. This happens every December 25 of the year. Yep, Christmas day itself! The goal is to make the children happy through gift-giving. And the gift is specific - stuffed toys! Stuffed toys because the recipients are kids, not just because they can play with it, but because they can hug it any time, whenever they need comfort. COMFORT, because for years now, Ate Sal searches for kids that has been affected by typhoons and other calamities. Each year, we gather as much stuffed toys as we can - from friends, schoolmates, classmates, workmates, etc. Whether old or new, huge or little, it doesn't matter as long as it'll be for a greater cause :)

In 2013, Give-A-Hug happened at Medellin. Kid recipients were the ones affected by typhoon Yolanda. In 2014, we travelled from the City to Tapilon, Daanbantayan to give the kids our hugs! :))

It was a very 'JAM-PACKED' day.
Here, take a look.

This is how we fit in the car.

For 3 hours of travel, we reached Tapilon. We wasted no time. We immediately unpack, prepare and arranged the things we were bringing. These are all for the kids.
The loot bags, with candies. And colognes.

 The slippers.

The stuffed toys!

And these are the kids:

A program was also prepared. Various parlor games. Winners get gifts. And did I mention that there was a clown? Uh-huh. Ate Sal hired one.

It was so fulfilling when I saw kids enjoyed the games. Their smiles are food for the soul especially because we know that they've been affected by Typhoon Yolanda and even if they haven't fully recovered yet, they were affected by Typhoon Ruby but they haven't lose hope and still knows how to give the world a grin. One of the best things.

And I guess, it's not only the kids playing hahahahah. We became demonstrators for the game instructions here.

After  the games, it's the highlight! GIVING OF HUGS!!! Yeyyyy!

And these are the kids, all-in.
See? That's the power of giving :)

Would a celebration be complete without food? Of course not! Ate Sal also ordered meals for the kids. It started raining outside so we transferred in a classroom.

Everything ended well. Every kid was happy and their parents too. But no one's happier than the group. The hours of travel was worth it. We deserve a groupie for that! :D

OOOOOOPPPPS! But wait, there's more. In the way home, we thought since we're in the north already, might  as well visit the beach. So, yaaaasss! :') Strong winds but the cold never bothered us anyway :)))))

Need I say more? #TeamGoodIntentions, U DA BEST!

'TEEN'-less: BADZ at 20

SOUL MATES
" I don’t know how you are so familiar to me—or why it feels less like I am getting to know you and more as though I am remembering who you are. How every smile, every whisper brings me closer to the impossible conclusion that I have known you before, I have loved you before—in another time, a different place, some other existence.”
- Lang Leav

It's funny how I remember you immediately after I've read this as I was browsing through Lang Leav's poems. Maybe because it's just us, you know. People wouldn't see this coming AGAIN but yeah, I have to be honest right now. When we were tracing where 'WE' started, we thought it was at SK. But I disagreed to that because I've known you before you know me and we were already friends on Facebook even before Sangguniang Kabataan. And yes, I was the one who added you. When you ask me why I did, I really can't find the answer. No. Not even at the deepest depth of my thoughts and the farthest back of my brain. Maybe some things just unintentionally happen, right?

We just got really close at SK's last year or months I should say. And then POOOOOFFF! The next thing we know, we're already together! It's just really funny because we were really (YES, REALLLLYYY!) just as shock as everybody else. They didn't know that while they were asking so many questions about us, we were asking ourselves too. But thank you to the days, weeks, months, and years we're together! Time have given us answers. And it still shocks me that there are still a lot of surprises and things to discover with each other every single day.

Now, if I trace 'US' back, I'll start with something we were sure of. And here it is:
Yes guys! You're right! Badz bribe me with chocolates! Kidding! HAHAHHA
It was  really on September 23, 2013. Badz texted saying she already went home. But when I got out of my classroom door, there she was. Red shirt. Cap on her head. Bringing a plastic bag with a Hershey's Chocolate and a bottled water inside. Of course, I was really surprised. Who won't be?
Sweet little gestures, she's best at that!

That time, there were still a lot of questions in our head. However, time answered that and we helped each other as much as we could to understand and to really know where we were going. And so, we became official.

Then many many things happened.
We've been in too many laags. Planned or unplanned. Escapes or not.

Been into celebrations/ random days together. (SILLY days most of the time)

We've been in too many food trips. These can attest to that!

And even if I haven't crashed out all restaurants/cafe's/foodshops in my list, here we are venturing into another lane: TRAVELLING.
Baby steps. Anniversary at Medellin. And a random day at Alcoy :)

BUT everything will never be enough. I'll never get tired of discovering worlds with you.

I promise to still listen and laugh at your corny jokes.

I promise to understand you even if we argue.

I promise to take every wacky picture we can.

I promise to do all those because I know no one else can look at me this way.

And I can't search for anyone cuter when asleep.

AND... There's just too many more reasons why I love you.

I love you because you take my best pictures.
I love you because you let me take care of you.
I love you because you aren't afraid of showing me of how you really feel.
I love you because you can both make me laugh and cry.
I love you because you give so much effort to surprise me even though you fail at times.
I love you because you can eat what I choose to eat.
I love you because you take me where I wanna go.
I love you because you know how to handle my childish attitude.
I love you because you love your family and friends so much.
I love you because you are so determined on what you wanna achieve in life, although there are times that you're really lazy.

I LOVE YOU BECAUSE I SEE ME IN YOU. AND YOU FILL THE EMPTY SPACES OF  MY LIFE, MY MIND AND MY TIME.

There's just too many reasons babe. Too many I'm afraid the reasons won't end. But that's all for now.

I'm just so happy I'll be celebrating with you (the 2nd time) :D

HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY baby!
ILOVEYOU!
HERE's THE SURPRISE VIDEO!!!
