This happened March 2013. I think it's a week or two before my 1st year college classes end. It was my first time going to Osmena Peak and doing this hiking thing. Together with Joyjoy, Ate Sal, Kuya Dondon, Kuya Joseph and Doggie, there were six of us, six brave souls who'd do the trip and the trek at night - when it's all rainy, muddy, foggy and cold.
But before we fill ourselves with the real adventure, we filled our stomach with food first.
After that, we went on with the road trip to Dalaguete where we'll start the hike. And this is us taking pictures while starting our journey.
Foggy right? That's normal. Not long, it started raining (we didn't expect that) and our path got real muddy which made it more exciting and the highlight for this adventure. Since I was wearing slippers (that's silly, I know), I had no choice but take it off and continue with my bare foot which I think was easier than having a real heavy weight of mud on the slippers.
Didn't really had much pictures with those mud. Who can if you got heavy bags plus the slippery way plus you are using your hands to survive not to slip plus you're half blind because of the darkness? STRUGGLE IS REAL, I tell y'all.
We didn't have any guides and we really got lost. But good thing, there were teenagers who were living there and they guided us 'til we reach the peak.
And here we are! ;) Sorry for the picture, that's how foggy it was! HAHAHA
We all thought we're done for the night. BUT wait, there's more!
Yesss guys! You're right! Thanks to Ate Sal, our "Surprise Queen", we were able to surprise Joyjoy! She celebrates her birthday on March 8. This one's a post-birthday celebration :) We had a little snacks with some chips and the cake. That surely was a wrap!
Here comes the day. When we have seen light and some real nature's beauty.
We woke up about 7 or 8am and still, foggy.
It's cold and so, we started cooking our breakfast, nooooodless!
At about 9am, Mr. Sun started shining and made the scenery more visible. So, we started walking around.
AND WHO WOULD EVER FORGET TO TAKE PICTURES WITH THE PEAK? No. One.
And the whole gang's groupie of course!
Right after that, we pack up. Still a long way home.
While on our way, there were parts of the road which sights are really nice. Why not stop and take a shot? :) HAHAHA still the redhead me.
Before really going home, we stopped over at this cold spring.
As I was browsing through all these photos, the feels were all coming back to me.
The excitement, struggle and the fear. Most of all, the happiness you'll feel when you're at the top. Where everything is breath-taking. Every scenery is a real beauty. You know it's worth the time, the effort and all the muscle pains.
Ugh. Take me back.
